Enemies at the Gate

New Rules To Unlive By

It didn't take Xander long at all to reconcile himself to his new unlife. Demons, vampires, all the monsters he'd spent a lifetime fighting, were suddenly on the same 'side' as him.

His enemies now were pointy bits of wood and church-blessed water, and the fiery ball of death that hung forever overhead. Oh, he knew a slew of other ways to kill demons of his kind, but the biggies were enough to keep him occupied for now.

He even knew that Buffy, if she ever tracked them down, would be the biggest enemy of all.

But he had Spike.

Stop All the Clocks

Suddenly Xander had eternity to fill, instead of dwindling, energy-sapping years of growing old. He checked his mental list of where to go and what to do, and realised he had so much more to add!

While he'd been alive he'd treasured every tale Spike told, convinced he'd never see the gorgeous sights his love described. But now he had the chance, he had the time, he had a guide who knew the darkest, richest, corners of the world.

He wanted to see every single palace Spike had seen, to buy a drink in every dangerous dive.

They made plans.

Family At War

Xander was oblivious to the subtle undercurrents, convinced they were just one small happy family. He loved them both quite differently and thought they understood, which they did, just not enough to co-exist without a fight.

Every time he left the room the hissing would begin, they'd circle one another on the bed. Claws would slash and eyes would flash and fangs would end up bared, and a few new drops of blood would end up shared.

By the time their boy returned, with drinks or snacks or toys, Seven and Spike were always well behaved. Until the next time.
