Together Forever

One Month Anniversary

The remnants of a Chinese meal lay scattered on the coffee table. Half empty boxes of spring rolls, dumplings, egg fried rice, twice cooked pork, and cashew chicken sat forgotten as the hungry couple feasted on each other.

Pale limbs, sheathed in skin as soft as satin, tangled ferociously with longer, teak-stained arms and sun-kissed thighs. It was a fight for dominance neither truly wanted to win, but the tussle was always enjoyed for what it was.

Eventually passion was spent and muscles were lax and limp. Twin sighs of contentment slipped from scratched and bitten chests.

"Happy anniversary, love."

One Year Anniversary

In the bizarreness that was Xander's life, this was hardly a blip on the radar. So, his first real date with his undead lover was taking place on their first anniversary. He could deal. He certainly wasn't nervous about dressing up in a suit and tie to go sit in a fancy restaurant and eat stuff he'd never heard of before with a beautiful blond vampire who insisted on paying the bill. After Mantis Lady and Mummy Girl, this was almost normal. Now, if he could just get this tie knotted properly he could go and meet his date. Eep.

Tenth Anniversary

"You're absolutely sure about this? There's no going back if you change your mind, you know."

"Gee, Spike, really? And here I was thinking I'd try it out for a month or so and if I decided I didn't like it..."

"Git."

"Clorox Queen."

"Oi!"

"Sorry, Clorox King."

"I don't have to bite you, y'know. Just the thought of an eternity of your bad jokes makes me want to dust myself."

"After all that work Willow put in to take out the happiness clause, I think she'd probably dust you herself if you changed your mind. Bite me, Spike... Sire."

Silver Jubilee

They replaced every piercing they'd collected over the years with real silver.

Ears, nipples, the twin bars that bracketed a sexily scarred brow, even the matching Prince Alberts were swapped out for brand new models. And they added to their collection with identical wedding bands, both etched with a delicate Celtic design that swore fealty and allegiance and eternity with every twisting knot.

They'd planned this, eagerly removing every piece the day before so they could heal as good as new in preparation for this night. The pain was half the pleasure; the blood was half the fun. They loved.

Centenary

One hundred years since that first night and they were still together. Oh, there had been times when they could hardly bear to look at one another, and one year where they actually lived apart, though they still kept in touch, but no matter what happened they always came back to each other, without fail.

They'd considered and rejected many ideas, from a re-enactment of their first frantic fumble to the night Xander breathed his last. Finally they decided on a blanket, a bottle and the midnight sky. All they needed to make the night complete was to be together.
